Automation Engineer for Digitalization (f/m/x)

What you will do

Designs, develops and optimizes automated solutions for the Pilot Center Operations to collect, store, process and enhance data utilization and accelerate the go-to-market process. Responsible for Io T at Pilot Center Shopfloor, data-related processes, data governance and quality of all generated data (real time and synthetic data).

- Connects new and existing data sources at our pilot lines (Io T, sensors, drives & hardware-based systems) and facilitates data accessibility & processability.- Automates our machine park at the Pilot Center and works with IT to integrate into the new Shopfloor IT Network.- Develops and implements effective and smart processes to collect, manage and store data generated at the Pilot Center; drives continues improvement.- Ensures data quality for all data generated in the Pilot Center, aligned with the IT global standards, TD/PD data strategy and global data governance (e.g., conducting regular audits).- Collaborates with cross-functional teams (IT, Operational Engineering, Process Engineering, Lab Data Scientist) to identify & design effective interfaces; address process interdependencies and inefficiencies.- Provides technical support and training to the team on the use of automated solutions and data management systems.

What you will need

Master's degree in Science, Technical or Engineering discipline with at least 5 years of respective professional experience
Expertise with digitalization of production processes and systems
Strong knowledge and experience in programming and production systems, particularly with Siemens control systems (TIA Portal, Step 7, etc.)
Proficiency in connecting and providing process data, as well as integrating interfaces with higher-level systems.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality and data visualization tools.
Basic knowledge in database technologies such as SQL, No SQL, cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), analytic tools, LLM, Gen AI is desired.
Language skills: English fluent and German proficient

Ability to:

identify, assess and solve complex problems.
plan, organize and prioritize tasks, manage resources and time within projects effectively and meet deadlines.
communicate effectively with diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
