To strengthen our Management Team within the Corporate Research & Development organization, we are looking for a Head of Advanced Processing Development at our headquarters in Mainz.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Analysis of mid- and long-term competence requirements, management of the competence life cycle taking into account the criteria of "unique, synergistic and performing" and providing proactive impetus for new product and technology developments throughout the company
• Technology scouting in relevant fields and active networking (institutes, companies)
• Driving and developing the strategy and roadmap forward for the competency field.
• Annual/rolling planning (cost center, investment, projects), and monitoring of compliance with the planning (budget, quality, time) as well as demand-oriented dimensioning of the area of responsibility
• Examine opportunities for public funded projects in line with the competence field strategy and acquisition / billing of funding
• RD key account management for selected business units
• Leadership, promotion and motivation of the employees in the area of responsibility (regular employee feedback and appraisals, succession and deputy planning, personnel development and further training measures) as well as systematic needs-based extension of qualifications to prepare for upcoming and future tasks within the company.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant company policies (EHS, ISO, secrecy, privacy) and continuous improvement of the QM system

Ihr Profil

• Above average science studies (material sciences / chemistry) with Ph D
• Long term professional experience in the R&D of industrial companies with corporate structures
• Experience and expertise in the area of advanced processing e.g. Coating tool box, Structuring on multi-length scale, Surface Functionalization (glass, glass ceramics or oxidic materials experience is of advantage)
• Proven successful track record in cross-country and cross-functional R&D management and project management
• Intercultural personnel management and development experience of larger groups of highly qualified scientists
• High flexibility, strategy, decision-making and judgmental skills as well as communication strength appropriate to the respective target groups on all levels of hierarchy
• Business fluent English and German in spoken and written
• Flexibility in terms of time and mobility in the context of required business trips in Germany and abroad
