Intellectual Property Counsel (m/f/d)

- In this position you will advise and support our development departments on all Intellectual Property matters
- You will protect development results and design a patent portfolio, you will participate in application decisions, prepare and prosecute patent applications, and collaborate with partner law firms, both domestically and internationally
- Furthermore, you will represent the company before the EPO, DPMA, and BPat G
- In addition to that you will analyze and evaluate third-party patents, prepare Freedom-to-Operate opinions, defend our patents and challenge third party intellectual property in opposition proceedings
What makes you great
- You possess a master’s or comparable degree in a technical or natural science discipline, preferably physics, physical engineering, chemical engineering, process engineering, or mechanical engineering. In addition to that you are a certified European Patent Attorney and/or German Patent Attorney or Patent Assessor
- You have several years of professional experience in patent law, preferably in an industrial patent department and ideally, substantial knowledge in the area of process engineering equipment and the production and application of industrial gases
- You work solution-oriented, you are a quick learner and a team player
- You show a can-do-attitude
- You are experienced in project management and have excellent judgment
- In addition to that you show high motivation and initiative, the highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness
- Strong analytical and excellent communication skills, an understanding of business contexts, an independent, meticulous approach to work, entrepreneurial and strategic thinking, the ability to assess complex technical inventions from a legal and business-oriented perspective, as well as networking capability complete your profile
- You have the ability to deal with sensitive and highly confidential issues, your written and verbal English and German language skills are superior
