Our research group Experimental Pediatric Pneumology and Allergology is seeking a Laboratory Technician or a candidate with a Bachelor/Master degree in life science and interest in technical assistance (f/m/d) from November 01, 2024 onwards.
The position is a full time position (20 hours) and is limited to 2 year with the option to be extended.
RequirementsYou have a completed vocational training as a laboratory technician (biological or medical technical assistant) or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in life sciences, have theoretical and practical knowledge in molecular and cell biology.
Your scope of duties:
We offer you an attractive working environment in a dynamic, motivated and, above all, dedicated junior research group, whose focus is to investigate the causes of lung disorders in the context of infectious diseases and virus immunology. In addition, we also investigate the molecular causes of multiple sclerosis in children and adolescents together with the research of Professor Kevin Rostasy (University Children's Hospital, Vestische Kinder- und Jugendklinik Datteln, Germany).
You will be significantly involved in cell culture work of primary and immune cells, and perform molecular and cell biology work, such as flow cytometry, cell separation, ELISA, western blot, PCR, and cloning. Furthermore, we work with patient samples, with our research questions having a translational focus. A thorough introduction to the methodology will be provided by the team, and you can arrange your working hours flexibly.
We want

An experienced person with laboratory experiences.
Professional experience, at least in parts of the described scope of duties, is desirable.
Very good knowledge of English in spoken and written word
Interest in translational research with a special focus on allergology, pulmonology, immunology and virology
Ability to work in a team
