About The Position

Position Overview:
Optibus is seeking a Product Designer with a strong track record in designing complex applications. In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting intuitive and user-friendly products that simplify the complexities of public transportation. As a key member of our design team, you’ll collaborate with designers across multiple locations to develop and refine our product, ensuring consistency and excellence in every user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Design end-to-end user experiences for our products, from early prototypes to final implementation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management and engineering teams to innovate and bring new ideas to life
Stakeholder Communication: Present complex design concepts to stakeholders, translating technical ideas into accessible and actionable designs
Design Leadership: Advocate for UX best practices across the organization, driving consistency and quality in all design outputs

As a core team member, you will:

User-Centric Design: Deeply understand and address the needs and pain points of Optibus users
Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas
Collaborate with other team members to ensure that designs are feasible and meet the needs of all stakeholders
Continuous Improvement: Iteratively improve designs based on user feedback and testing results
Tackle design challenges with creativity and a solutions-oriented mindset
Stay up-to-date on the latest design trends and technologies

Requirements

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience designing a complex system/platform
Excellent visual design skills with a sensitivity to user-system interaction
You possess excellent communication skills - Ability to present your design solutions to various stakeholders
Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision (not just 'how it should look' but 'what we should build')
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, UX patterns, techniques, and technologies
You have a positive attitude and great social skills with a willingness to put aside ego for the sake of what's best for the team
You have excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
You have a high level of written and spoken English

Portfolio Required:
A strong portfolio is critical for this role. Showcase your experience in UX and interaction design, particularly in complex systems where usability, simplicity and ease of use were a major concern.
