Product Designer

About The Position
Optibus is seeking a Product Designer with a strong track record in designing complex applications. In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting intuitive and user-friendly products that simplify the complexities of public transportation. As a key member of our design team, you’ll collaborate with designers across multiple locations to develop and refine our product, ensuring consistency and excellence in every user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end user experiences for our products, from early prototypes to final implementation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management and engineering teams to innovate and bring new ideas to life
- Stakeholder Communication: Present complex design concepts to stakeholders, translating technical ideas into accessible and actionable designs
- Design Leadership: Advocate for UX best practices across the organization, driving consistency and quality in all design outputs
As a core team member, you will:
- User-Centric Design: Deeply understand and address the needs and pain points of Optibus users
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure that designs are feasible and meet the needs of all stakeholders
- Continuous Improvement: Iteratively improve designs based on user feedback and testing results
- Tackle design challenges with creativity and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Stay up-to-date on the latest design trends and technologies
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience designing a complex system/platform
- Excellent visual design skills with a sensitivity to user-system interaction
- You possess excellent communication skills - Ability to present your design solutions to various stakeholders
- Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision (not just 'how it should look' but 'what we should build')
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, UX patterns, techniques, and technologies
- You have a positive attitude and great social skills with a willingness to put aside ego for the sake of what's best for the team
- You have excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- You have a high level of written and spoken English
Portfolio Required:
A strong portfolio is critical for this role. Showcase your experience in UX and interaction design, particularly in complex systems where usability, simplicity and ease of use were a major concern.
