In the Advanced Carbon Conversion Technologies department, you will conduct research into conversion technologies for residual and waste materials. The aim is to provide carbon for industrial processes and products from sustainable sources, as well as in the context of recycling.
The focus is on the development of thermochemical plants and processes for the production of energy sources such as synthesis gas and fuels from biogenic residual and waste materials, as well as the (chemical) recycling of feedstocks containing plastics, composite materials and minerals. In addition to conversion technologies, you will be intensively involved in the preparation and further processing of conversion products, e.g. pyrolysis oils, carbonisates and synthesis gases through catalytic processes.

What you will do

• Collaboration in international and national research projects
• Development and optimization of catalytic synthesis processes of biogenic gases
• Accompanying, conducting and evaluating experiments and analyses in the field of synthesis of liquid energy sources
• Development of solution approaches for the subsequent upscaling of processes
• Supervision and guidance of students
• Preparation of publications and presentation of research results
• Transferring your research results to other applications
• Coordination with partners and stakeholders from industry and research

What you bring to the table

• Completed university degree (diploma, master's degree) in chemical engineering, chemistry or with a technical background
• You are enthusiastic and ready to take on a variety of challenges
• Interest in a varied subject area with diverse challenges
• Knowledge of catalytic synthesis, conversion processes and analytics is advantageous
• The will to continuously develop your professional and personal skills and the willingness to present your results internally and externally in presentations and publications
• Strong independent and conscientious way of working, ability to work in a team, quick comprehension skills
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
