Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. They may also pursue doctoral studies outside of working duties.
We are hiring a Research Associate for the research project ‘Disbanding Dysfunctional Social Norms’ which explores ways to modify dysfunctional social norms in laboratory and field experiments. The project is part of a larger research group funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). In addition to the scientific services to be provided, administrative tasks will also be carried out as part of the project. Due to the funding by the German Research Foundation, there is no teaching obligation for this position.
Your profile
A university degree in a relevant field.
Very good knowledge of economic and empirical methods (e.g. in experimental economics and quantitative text analysis) is expected. A strong interest in research questions in the field of law and economics, institutional economics or political economy is also required. A very good knowledge of German is crucial. Since most of the experiments are conducted in Arabic-speaking countries, a solid knowledge of English and Arabic, familiarity with Egypt in particular and a willingness to travel there are also important prerequisites.
