The Cluster of Excellence “Physics of Life” (Po L) offers a position in the Junior Research Group Physical Measurements and Manipulation of Living Systems as
Research Associate / Postdoc in Directed Collective Cell Migration (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting as soon as possible. The position is limited until December 31, 2026. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – Wiss Zeit VG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification.
Tasks:
- Development of a framework about biophysical mechanisms of cell guidance in vivo.
- Review of current literature on electro- chemo- and durotaxis in morphogenesis.
- Development of new theoretic knowledge with the aim to elucidate whether and how the eye guide neural crest and cranial placodes to shape the head.
- Establishment of new methods for directed cell migration assays, imaging pipelines for acquisition and analysis in both Xenopus and zebrafish.
- Investigate the how tissue patterning emerges from directed movements.
- Presentation of research results at conferences.
- Writing scientific publications and reports.
- University and Ph D degree in in biology or physics with the focus on tissue morphogenesis.
- Experience in bioimaging and analysis of 3D deep tissue morphogenesis.
- Experience with transcriptomics.
- Experience with non-conventional animal systems.
- Experience with 3D tissue biophysical analysis.
