YOUR TASKS

• Design of conductive biofilms and optimization of the respective strains
• Producing electrodes by additive manufacturing and surface functionalization
• Design and assembly of a test cell for biofilms with measurement techniques
• Quantification of biofilm formation in bioelectrosynthesis applications and in anode-assisted fermentations

YOUR PROFILE

Requirements

• completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subjects Biology, Biotechnology, Bioprocessengineering or comparable

Required knowledge and personal skills

• very good knowledge of common micro- and molecular biological working techniques (cultivation of MO, PCR, Bioinformatics, Biological assays, etc.)
• experience in working with electroactive bacteria and bioelectrochemical (microfluidic) systems
• knowledge of biofilm imaging techniques (optical coherence tomography and microscopy)
• experience in the operation of biofilm reactors
• very good command of written and spoken English
