The Position
The Custom Biotech business unit of Roche is an international sales and marketing organization responsible for customers in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. We market raw materials, analyzers and reagents to industrial customers from the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry. The headquarters and key parts of the organization are located in Mannheim/Germany. As Scientific Expert (m/w/d) you specialize in the processing of scientific information for our focus products in the Biopharma and Molecular Diagnostics area within the Custom Biotech Product Management & Scientific Marketing Team. Your responsibilities include:
  • You initiate, optimize and monitor the creation of application data for Custom Biotech products to generate relevant content for customers (discussions), presentations and marketing publications, in particular by creating your own content and coordinating small and medium-sized laboratory experiments
  • You screen and generate scientific data, especially for the development of new markets and products and analyze our environment and competitors with regard to scientific developments and product innovations. You also take part in congresses and customer conversations. You actively contribute with your expertise to the creation of our marketing strategies.
  • You are the contact person for customers to support technical and scientific questions about the application of our products, you manage customer inquiries and complaints independently. To do this, you build a solid internal and external network with other experts and use it to provide first-class service to our customers.
  • You ensure independent communication and cooperation with the relevant internal contact partners, for example in the management of safety or quality notifications, as well as the coordination of external partners and agencies.
  • You take part in international project teams across the organization and ensure that regional interests are collected, clearly communicated and taken into account

Who you are
You have completed your medical or natural sciences degree above average and have at least 2-3 years of professional experience in the biopharmaceutical or diagnostic industry. The following points round off your profile:
  • You have relevant scientific qualifications to the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry. You are familiar with R&D or production processes in the industry. Ideally, you have specialized in one of the following areas: m RNA, cell and gene therapy or molecular diagnostics.
  • You are also familiar with the regulatory requirements and required quality standards. Ideally, you can also provide evidence of scientific publications and presentations.
  • Ideally, you already have experience in processing queries from scientists or technical customers. You are experienced in working with scientific tools and software and in the transformation and implementation of results from scientific research into business decisions.
  • Your strong entrepreneurial thinking guides you in solving complex problems and you like to work conceptually and strategically.
  • You show a high level of communication and social competence in personal and virtual cooperation, even in international settings, and convince through your competence in presenting data and results.
  • You think in a customer-focused way with the aim of enhancing the customer experience at all points of contact with Roche.
  • You can speak German and English perfectly. A second European foreign language is an advantage
