System Engineer Optical Sensors (m/d/f) - temporary until 30.04.2026

  • Responsible for product definition, requirements identification, architectural choices, related to optical sensors in consumer applications
  • Drive the implementation of Proof of Concept (POC) and customer demos. Hands-on support of hardware and software development. Study of mechanical solutions and system integration of demo material
  • Feasibility study of new products in innovative optical sensing application spaces
  • Define and deliver comprehensive competitive analysis with electrical measurements and physical teardowns
  • Coordinate and interface with other cross-functional teams, i.e. IC-architects, IC design, packaging, applications engineering, test development, project management, field applications, etc. to develop complex, integrated system level solutions
  • Technical Interface to customers on system level and device level
  • University degree in Electronics, Physics or comparable, ideally with experience in the semiconductor industry, with focus on optical sensors applications
  • Technical problem solving and analytics skills at Integrated Circuit (IC) system board level, spanning across software and hardware
  • Familiarity with software programming, e.g. Python, C++, Matlab
  • Strong analytical and technical background on mixed-signal solutions, understanding of circuits and systems
  • Familiarity with standard and optical lab equipment, validation and test methodology, data analysis
  • Experience in light sensing, camera imaging, Time-Of-Flight (TOF) sensors and complex system platform development for consumer applications
  • Outstanding leadership, customer oriented personality, presentation skills and excellent written/verbal communication
  • Proficient in English
