Direct Support Professional
Work Schedule: Shifts are 3pm-11pm. Saturday & Sunday. At least one weekend shift is required. Candidates available to work both Saturday and Sunday are strongly preferred.
Opportunities for full-time employment are also available.
Compensation: $25.50
Job Description: Help support an endearing 18-year-old with developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, medical/ADL needs, & behavior challenges. Support takes place in his home and in the community. You will be working as part of highly skilled 3-person team of professional staff dedicated to improving his quality of life.
Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience in a related field (caregiving for individuals with disabilities, mental or behavioral health, ABA etc.)
First Aid and CPR certification.
Valid California driver’s license & clean driving record.
Successful passage of a criminal background check.
Prior experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or similar challenges is required.

Requirements:

Ability to assist the individual with activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, & other self-help skills.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Ability and willingness to support individuals with challenging behavior (including aggression, property destruction & disrobing).
Ability to work as a member of a team, read and interpret documents, write specific reports, and help problem-solve.
Demonstrated ability to master and implement all techniques used to safely manage behavioral challenges, including passing a company-provided Crisis Prevention Training course developed by QBS Safety-Care®, shortly after date of hire.

Job Type: part-time or full-time
Schedule:

16 hours/week, with the possibility of up to 40 hours/week
At least 1 weekend day required, Saturday and Sunday strongly preferred
Working hours are on swing shifts (3pm-11pm).

Pay: From $25.50 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
