About the Role
The Attendant Laundry primarily responsible for linen product quality, linen inventory control and sorting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding clothing and other textile items. The Attendant laundry is responsible for the laundering processes and Guest laundry in the absence of the Manager or Team Leader. The following key duties are shared responsibilities when the Manager Laundry and the Team Leader laundry are on duty.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete wash cycles, folding of linen and correct storage.
- Removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
- Performing minor sewing duties.
- Ensure all shelves are labeled with the item description.
- Tracking which items belong to whom.
- Ensure soiled and damaged linen is stored in soiled bags and disposed of correctly.
- Keeping an updated inventory of laundry detergents and sewing kits.
- Tracking maintenance and repairs on laundering equipment.
- Ensuring that the facility remains clean at all times.
- Ensure the linen is delivered to the rooms when required.
- Ensure support is provided to the laundry function when required.
- Ensure par levels are maintained.
- Ensure chemicals are used and stored correctly.
- Report maintenance and hazard issues to Manager Laundry/Team Leader Laundry.
- Maintaining all laundry equipment and inform facilities manager as to any maintenance needs.
- To assist with any other duties as required by the Director or another member of the management team.
This position is for the summer season of 2025.
