Job Summary
Retail Marketing Team Leader will lead the RM team, CBP Process, Retail Category Development and Digital marketing processes. He or she will oversee Shopper Marketing activation for the country and have the touch point expertise to implement Category demand creation; the activity grid and new product Go to Market for the subsidiary that is developed by Consumer Marketing in the Hub. He or she will develop RE strategies by category for country, and develop shopper programs and solutions based on robust RE, shopper and customer insight focusing on key strategic customers to build volume, market share, and category growth for Colgate’s business. Synchronize consumer strategies and the RE’s shopper strategies by category to increase demand and trade support for our profitable growth, ensuring we get our products into the store, off the shelf, and into the home of our consumers cost effectively and efficiently. Create and implement Digital marketing strategy and support key e-comm customers with digital solutions.
Estimated travel: 10-15%. At least one store check day bi-monthly and participation in all key customer’s category workshops.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Category /RE Strategy / Customer engagement
- Develop Category / RE Strategy and RE’s prioritization in terms of the level of investment & applied solutions.
- Leads the development of 5P Category & Brand & Digital Strategies by RE and Customer.
- Identify and prioritize RE/Customer Growth Initiatives including shopper programs.
- Work with Consumer & Digital Marketing in the Hub to identify category, brand strategies and tactics by retail environment, agreeing annual activity grid and budget by category and shopper activations.
- Build knowledge on Retail Environment, Customer and Shopper through Insights.
- Engages in local grid activation - adaptation & execution by RE/customer together with CD & Supply Chain teams.
- Ensure excellence on the Shopper Marketing activation (Touchpoint prioritization) to implement: Brand activation and Category demand creation; the activity grid and new product Go to Market for the subsidiary that is developed by Consumer Marketing in the Hub.
- Develops tools, merchandising materials and in-store programs for effective shelf management and for inducing shoppers to purchase Colgate products.
- Develops customer-specific strategies which deliver the brand and customer budgets.
- Develops impactful and relevant presentations and tools (trade stories, NPD activation programs, etc) for CD Team.
- Supervises and conducts pre and post analyses of promotions, develops archive of performance history, and adjusts business plans based on results to drive improved ROI across all types of trade spending.
- Supports Customer Engagement. Cooperates with the Customer Development Managers to develop the Joint Business plan matrix and develops the strategies to have a mutual sustainable growth with our major customers.
- Conducts regular trade visits, communicates findings & recommendations by category & brand.
- Develops expertise in shopper profiles and behavior in key RE’s and customers by category with support of regional team responsible for shopper insights & analytics.
- Supports the area of In Store Management, including 5P’s communication to the Merchandisers and Field team, excellence in store execution and 5P’s monitoring.
- Supports CDMs with key e-commerce customers’ development as per HUB strategy and local opportunities
- Delivers budgeted Category & Brand Market Share, Net Sales & Operating Profit for the country.
- Leads overall Margin growth / Positive NSPI / SPI plans across categories, brands, key customers.
- Supports the CD team to deliver customer-specific P&L.
- Supervises promotion (A&P) budget. Monitors the depth of the investment by RE / Customer vs agreed Strategy.
- Actively supports SKU simplification with cross-functional team including CS&L, Finance, Customer Development leader, Retail Marketing Managers / Country Managers
- Supports the process for Budget Review/MYR Volume plan & Financial Goals with Consumer Marketing in the Hub.
- Leads the budget process regarding the country promotion (A&P) budget & Consumer Gross-to-Net spending.
- Leads CBP Monthly Discipline: drives the organization towards a collaborative approach to business planning. Actively participates in all the process steps in the sub according to the roles & responsibilities.
- In cooperation with CDM’s, develops recommendations to accelerate sales & SOM growth or address gaps for key customers based on brand performance (CBP).
- Develops a Category Management Strategy and activity plan which focuses resources behind priority categories and customer assessment according to the current company strategy.
- Leads the Retail Category Development process in the organization and prioritization of services.
- Manages direct reports in alignment with Colgate Code of Conduct & CP values, provides exposure opportunities for direct reports for learning and personal development.
- Acting in accordance with “Competition Law”, “Rules of the Roads” and “Commercial Selling Principles”
Range of Qualifications
Level of Education: College , preferably master
Years of Experience (range): 10 years
Must have:
- Experience in Consumer Marketing or Brand Marketing or Trade marketing or similar experience
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Hungarian FMCG retail trade and shoppers
- Experience in People Management
- Experience working in matrix organization
- Native Hungarian speaker with a good command of English - both in oral and written
- Experience in Customer Development (Key Account management)
- Experience in digital marketing or e-commerce
- Experience in multinational environment
- Experience in FMCG non-food segment
- Experience in transforming insights into action
