The HVDC Systems Engineering Leader will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of HVDC projects, ensuring they meet technical requirements, budgetary constraints, and deadlines. Role Overview:

The HVDC Systems Engineering Leader will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of HVDC projects, ensuring they meet technical requirements, budgetary constraints, and deadlines. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in HVDC systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The position holder will lead and manage a global team of HVDC Systems Engineers within the HVDC Product Delivery Group (PDG). These engineers are in several geographical locations (UK, India, Germany, France, USA).


Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers and specialists in the design, analysis, and optimization of HVDC systems, including converters, controls, and associated equipment. This includes systems design, systems studies, management of Customers’ systems requirements.
• Develop technical strategies and roadmaps for HVDC projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry standards.
• Drive innovation in HVDC technology, identifying opportunities for improvement and staying abreast of industry developments.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, resolving complex technical issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including NPI, Reference Solutions, Sales, and Project Management, to ensure successful project execution.
• Interface with external partners, suppliers, and customers to establish technical requirements and ensure project success.
• Contribute to the development of standards, guidelines, and best practices for HVDC systems engineering.
• Participate to the preparation and execution of strategical growth of the HVDC PDG growth as defined in the business Long Term Strategy (LTS)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in HVDC systems engineering, including design, analysis, and implementation.
• Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully leading technical teams and driving project outcomes.
• Deep understanding of HVDC converter technology, control systems, and associated equipment.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing HVDC systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines.
• Experience in the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously for HVDC systems engineering.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
