We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Migration Tester to join our dedicated data migration team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Client's IT Department and data subject matter experts to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data during the migration process. This is a critical role in ensuring that the two-hop migration of data from source systems (Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2) to a SQL Server staging and target database is performed seamlessly, with all data transformations, validations, and verifications meeting the highest standards.

Skills Requirements

Ø Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Data Validation and Verification:

• Conduct detailed testing of data at each stage of the migration process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
  
• Validate data transformations by writing and executing SQL queries to compare source and target data.
  
• Ensure that data cleansing processes have been executed correctly and that the cleansed data meets predefined quality criteria.

• 
  Test Planning and Execution:

• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to cover all aspects of the data migration process.
  
• Execute test cases, document results, and work with the development and data teams to resolve any issues.
  
• Perform regression testing to ensure that previous migrations have not been affected by changes to the migration process.

• 
  Collaboration:

• Collaborate with data subject matter experts to understand data mappings and business rules.
  
• Work closely with the data migration team to identify potential risks and ensure that they are addressed in the testing process.
  
• Report test results and defects to the project team and participate in defect triage meetings.

• 
  Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in retrospectives and provide feedback on the testing process to continually improve the quality of the data migration.
  
• Stay updated with the latest testing tools and methodologies, especially in the context of data migration and SQL Server environments.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Data Migration Tester or in a role focused on data validation and testing.
  
• Basic knowledge of SQL for the purpose of executing and understanding validation queries (no development experience required).
  
• Experience with data validation and data quality assurance, particularly in the context of data migration projects.
  
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ø Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data migration projects involving multiple database systems.
  
• Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 environments.
  
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, especially in a distributed or remote setting.
