Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled SAS Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage product development, analyze business requirements, and translate them into technical specifications. You will play a key role in defining the product roadmap, driving enhancements, creating user stories, and ensuring a high-quality user experience. Additionally, you will collect and analyze user feedback to refine the product roadmap and provide support to data producers and consumers on our marketplace.

Essential Functions:

• Own and manage the monthly and daily processing including error resolution, communication of status and proactive identification of improvements to be made
• Responsible for exploring relevant data sources, generating a business understanding of the data, and developing the logic to transform the data into insights that can be demonstrated for this endeavor, connecting the dots to different aspects of building connections/graphs of the venture ecosystem.
• Developing efficient, scalable, and repeatable processes to transform data.
• Partnering with other data scientists/business analysts to make them familiar with the transformed information so that it can be appropriately used by other analysts and data scientists.
• Using standard methodologies' framework to ensure data quality and reconciliation checks are in place and are transparent to our users.

Essential Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of writing and understanding of complex SAS codes
• Extensive knowledge and experience in SAS macros, SAS procedures, and functions

• Experience managing batch processing on Linux servers including knowledge of cron scheduling and Linux commands
• Demonstrated communication skills showing an understanding of the question and an ability to resolve issues
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt and share knowledge with team members

Preferred Skills:

• Build, design, and develop a robust data model to accomplish the goals of this connections program as well as assist in building out analytical tools/solutions. Document the data transformation logic and understanding for other analysts to follow.
• Demonstrated experience with the data mining tools SAS/AWS.
• Experience in SAS Viya would be preferred.
• Experience in transforming business specifications and requirements into well-detailed and scripted SAS processes.
• Proven Documentation (technical and user documentation) and Verbal and written Communication skills
• Good understanding of BI Methodologies and Practice
• Experience with systems integration, building system models by combining model components and testing the integrity of modeling systems, proficient with model and systems implementation testing.
• Knowledge of Data Governance and DQ framework is a plus.
• Background in data management in the Banking/Finance industry is preferred.
• Experience with ETL and data modeling tools is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage and multitask in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work/manage a variety of projects.
• Bachelor/master’s in computer science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or operational research
• Working knowledge of Tableau is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in analytics and/or business intelligence space
