The CMH Health Equity team aims to enhance health equity for those living with obesity by improving access to transformative, culturally relevant education, quality care, and treatment. Our goal is to break the cycle of obesity inequity in underserved communities.
As Senior Director of Cardiometabolic Health (CMH) Health Equity, responsible for obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular related disease states you will leverage your leadership and strategic skills to drive CMH’s obesity-focused health equity strategy. You will translate insights into impactful programs, resources, and communications, and identify opportunities to advance health equity goals. This role requires proven experience in the development and execution of health equity strategies, and communication ability to drive collaboration and partnership across the business and externally, and effective team leadership.
This role will report to the Vice President and Head of CMH Health Equity.
Major Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to address health disparities in obesity within the community.
- Program Execution: Oversee the execution of community-based programs and initiatives aimed at reducing obesity rates and improving cardiometabolic health equity.
- Partnership Development: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with external collaborators, community organizations, healthcare providers, and other relevant entities.
- Data Analysis: Use data and analytics to inform strategy, track progress, and measure the impact of health equity initiatives.
- Advocacy and Outreach: Advocate for policies and practices that promote health equity and address social determinants of health.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor working teams dedicated to health equity and community health improvement. Lead internal US community of practice.
- Resource Management: Manage budgets, resources, and grants to ensure the effective implementation of programs.
- Communication: Serve as a spokesperson for cardiometabolic health equity initiatives, communicating findings and updates to internal and external collaborators, and the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 5+ years' leadership experience in roles related to health equity, commercial, or advocacy
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
Preferences:
- Experience in Health Equity is a strong asset
- Knowledge in Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiovascular related diseases is a strong asset
- Confirmed ability to run and lead high profile, critical initiatives and projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially for senior leadership and board-level interactions
- Strategic ability to think creatively, conceptually and critically to solve challenging problems
- High learning agility and ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and work effectively with senior partners
- Stong analytical skills and experience in data analysis
- Validated ability to inspire change and achieve measurable outcomes.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining external partnerships with diverse and senior level stake
