Brief Description of Position
As part of the External Affairs department, an Assoc. Dir, Policy/Govern. Relations will collaborate with governments, policy organizations at local and national levels, and community/NGO primarily to shape the overall public policy environment and to positively impact public policy decisions affecting our company business.Responsible for researching, developing, and implementing policies and addressing legislative and regulatory issues that improve and expand patient access to care. We greatly monitor and manage our company's reputation, communicating our work to improve lives. The position reports to the Director of External Affairs.
Roles and Responsibilities
Policy- Develops recommendations for strategic responses and initiatives to the political environment, external economic, regulatory, and legal for advocacy program on regulations that have impact on our company's business and to support the Business Units (Vaccine and Oncology)
- Monitoring of the development of the health policy framework at national and sub national level (e.g. legislative and political initiatives) which are of relevance for the pharmaceutical industry and analysis of potential implications for the company in the field of vaccines and Oncology
- Creation and implementation of integrated policy plans in both vaccines and oncology considering common interests of external stakeholders
- Develops and maintains policies and programs to ensure organizational awareness of government legislation and/or regulatory issues that affect the organization, respond to the same, and create a favorable business environment.
- Collaborates with regional policy and communications colleagues to identify and develop policy priorities and advocacy messaging that are aligned with local, regional and global policy and advocacy priorities.
- Elaboration of stakeholder management strategies; build, strengthen and sustain strategically important relationships with key stakeholders and foster new networks.
- Support In charge executive support for arranging government engagement and business mission, including develop briefing paper preparation
- Prepares and organizes forums and gatherings with government officials to exchange ideas and information on business activities and potential legislation that may affect the organization.
- Representation of our Company with different trade association working groups institutions, professional organizations, public health organizations, attending government meetings to advocate for our Companies´ leadership position.
- Ensures that the organization's interests are represented and protected in legislative proceedings and the development of market rules and procedures.
- Lead and strengthen the government relation of our company's Indonesia CSR program that gives impact to society.
- Identify and build a partnership with key policy stakeholders, including government authorities, experts, key thought leaders, NGOs, and patient groups to address a positive environment and to roll out country Corporate Responsibility Initiative
Requirements
- University degree in political science, law, public health, natural sciences or degree in another relevant field
- Excellent understanding of the Indonesia health and political system and of legal processes as well as an existing network in the Indonesia political environment.
- Significant experience related to public health, public relations, health policy, governmental function or related environment.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and manage strong partnerships and collaborations with various stakeholders as well as advise senior leadership and executives.
- Ability to prepare talking points and concise briefing documents/memos Diplomacy, professional discretion and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Communication skills tailored for target-specific groups
- Social skills: build and expand trust-based relationships with various stakeholders
- Experience in working and advising senior management level and executives Excellent communication in Indonesia and English (written and verbal)
Working Relationship
External Relationship:- Government at the National and Sub-National Levels (executive and legislative), Building and maintaining good Relationships for policy shaping and expanding access.
- Key Opinion Leader (KOL), maintaining good Relationships and inviting to every event, helping to shape policy and impacted business units.
- NGOs and Communities develop and maintain the relations for policy-shaping activities and CSR Programs.
- Medical, working together for every event and scientific term
- RA, Medical and Legal, working together for policy and regulatory issues
- Communication, working together for company reputation issues
- Legal and Compliance, working together to make sure our activities are aligned, will ensure compliance
- Marketing Coordinator, doing the event and compliance
- Market Access, support in executing access project and initiative
