Customs & Litigation Analyst

The Customs & Litigations Analyst ensures that the company complies with all customs regulations, effectively managing the import and export of goods to meet regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for minimizing costs and maximizing the use of customs facilities for the benefit of the company. The analyst leads the process of securing all related permits from BKPM and other relevant authorities for customs imports and facility purposes.
The Customs & Litigations Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the company’s international operations comply with legal requirements, while optimizing cost-efficiency and minimizing risk. By effectively managing permits, licenses, and relationships with authorities, the analyst contributes to seamless supply chain operations and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with internal users, project owners, forwarding companies, and customs authorities to ensure efficient and effective import and export operations.
- Identify and ensure accurate classification of HS codes and calculate import duties to optimize compliance and cost management.
- Process and monitor import and export licenses, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with customs authorities and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and minimize disruptions.
- Lead customs audits and regulatory reviews to ensure compliance with customs regulations and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize customs processes and leverage free trade agreements and duty exemption programs where applicable.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, and supply chain teams to align customs operations with broader business objectives.
- Monitor changes in customs regulations and ensure the company adapts its processes to stay compliant with evolving international trade laws.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- PPJK Certification.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience handling import and export operations in a manufacturing company.
- Experience in multinational or large local companies preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP and customs management systems.
- Experience with trade agreements and duty reduction strategies (e.g., Free Trade Zones, preferential tariffs).
- Experience with digital customs platforms or tools, such as automated customs declarations or e-filing systems.
- Proactive engagement with authorities to avoid customs delays and ensure smooth operations.
