Role Descriptions

• Provide support during regular business hours (8x5) and on-call support 24/7.
• Review tickets escalated by Tier 1 for further analysis and investigation
• Investigate incidents escalated by Tier 1, utilizing analysis tools such as IDS/IPS logs, packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark), and sandboxing to analyze detected malware.
• Coordinate with Tier 3 or other relevant teams, including forensic specialists or threat analysts, when incidents require more advanced technical or strategic handling
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that mitigation measures, such as patch applications, configuration adjustments, or policy updates, are effectively implemented
• Oversee the recovery process post-incident, ensuring that systems return to a secure and normal state with no residual threats
• Identify opportunities for enhancing SOC tools including EDR, XDR, SOAR, ASM, UBA, TIP, and SIEM (e.g., Wazuh, Secure60)
• Provide additional training to the Tier 1 team to enhance their capabilities.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, focusing on incident investigation and threat analysis.
• Ability to provide on-call support 24/7.
• Capable of escalating issues to Tier 3.
• Intermediate to advanced certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Threat Intelligence Analyst (C|TIA), Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Hacking and Forensic Investigator (CHFI), or Certified Incident Handler (ECIH) are considered advantageous.
