What You Will Do:
- Lead the strategic planning of capacity allocation for vendors in collaboration with the Sourcing & Preparation (S&P) team.
- Analyze vendor performance data to provide recommendations for current and potential vendors, facilitating long-term partnerships and optimizing production outcomes.
- Drive vendor selection processes based on thorough evaluations of capabilities, past performance, and business needs provided by the S&P team.
- Oversee Pre-Production Sampling (PPS) in collaboration with the Quality Control (QC) team, ensuring product standards are met before full-scale production.
- Establish high-level quality control benchmarks, guiding the QC team on the approval of PPS results to ensure product consistency and compliance with company standards.
- Provide strategic oversight for purchase requests, ensuring timely and accurate submission to the Procurement team, aligned with vendor capacity and production requirements.
- Lead negotiations with key vendors to secure optimal terms while ensuring adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Lead Pre-Production Meetings (PPM) with Sourcing & Preparation (S&P), Research & Development (R&D), Quality Control (QC), and vendors to ensure alignment on production timelines, quality expectations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to enhance communication, streamline processes, and improve decision-making throughout the production lifecycle.
- Develop and monitor production timelines, ensuring workflows are efficient, bottlenecks are identified early, and adjustments are made to meet production targets.
- Implement a proactive issue-detection and resolution system to address potential production delays, quality concerns, or other risks.
- Identify and create a warning system to detect potential issues and resolve problems in the production process.
- Ensure the accuracy of production quality, quantity, and delivery.
- Input production data at each process stage into the system.
- Update the Quality Control (QC) schedule.
- Evaluate production outcomes to guide future vendor allocation and development.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC) team to ensure efficient execution of production planning, inventory control, and vendor management activities.
- Foster a high-performance culture within the PPIC team by setting clear goals, providing guidance, and facilitating continuous learning and development.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to align PPIC activities with broader business objectives, ensuring seamless communication and execution across all functions.
What You Will Need:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in any field (degrees in Garment Production, Industrial Engineering, or other relevant fields in the Fashion Apparel Industry).
- At least 5 years of experience in the Fashion Apparel Industry.
- Ability to identify and select suppliers/vendors.
- Ability to identify Capacity Requirements Plan and allocate orders to multiple factories.
- Ability to identify potential production risks.
- Capable of formulating a Master Production Schedule.
- Experience in production planning control.
- Ability to monitor production progress.
- Ability to review vendor performance.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar applications.
- Proven leadership experience in production planning, inventory control, and vendor management, preferably within a fast-paced apparel manufacturing environment.
