Project Coordinator (Nabire) - The Partnership to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in Indonesia (PASTI) Papua Project

Wahana Visi Indonesia is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to work and collaborate to empower the most vulnerable children, family and community through community development, advocacy, and emergency response for sustainable transformation regardless of religion, race, ethnic or gender.
Since 1998, Wahana Visi Indonesia has carried out various community development programs focusing on children. Hundred thousands of children in Indonesia have been benefited from WVI’s accompaniment program. Wahana Visi Indonesia is a trusted partner of World Vision International.
Key Responsibilities:
S/he has the responsibility to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate, as well as develop the capacity of local partners, develop partnerships and facilitate the implementation of PASTI-Papua. The position will coordinate and manage the responsibilities of the hired local individual service providers as part of the local partner/champions capacity building strategy. This position will report to Team Leader.
1. Strategy Development & Planning
  • Contribute in the preparation the development of Project’s annual operating plan
  • Prepare the development of project research and baseline
  • Conduct monitoring, reflection and learning with the community and the program team to improve and adapt future programming.
  • Develop sustainability strategy through institutionalizing the community organization.
2. Resource Acquisition & Management ·
  • Contribute project budgets in consultation with Team Leader and Finance team to ensure funds are spent in alignment with budgets in a timely manner.
  • Ensure cost-effective and efficient use of resources, in accordance with Wahana Visi Indonesia financial policies and donor’s (USAID) requirements.
3. Capacity Building
  • Identify and assess capacity of community groups, project staff and local implementing partners in target areas on relevant technical capacities.
  • Provide capacity building to the related partners and project staff in order to achieve the set project goals.
  • Provide technical support, tools, appropriate methods and approach to field staff, local implementing partners and related stakeholders to ensure project quality.
  • Internalize and socialize WVI core documents, including safeguarding and child protection, PSEA, and GEDSI.
  • Create a Community Learning environment (including children and the marginalized) and encourage communities to share and learn from their own experiences as part of confidence and capacity building.
4. Accountability & Quality Assurance:
  • To ensure that project implementation is in alignment with project design, organization and donor standards.
  • Monitor project implementation at the community level to ensure effective implementation.
  • Prepare monthly report of project implementation in order to measure project’s achievement, obtain lessons learned and improve future programming.
  • Facilitate Advocacy Community Engagement (with its frame of project accountability) with local implementing partners according to project design and shared responsibilities.
  • Ensure the quality of data collection, data analysis and review on assessment, baseline and evaluation of project.
5. Networking & Coordination:
  • Communicate effectively on Wahana Visi Indonesia identity, mission, vision, values and our approaches to work in ways that are contextually appropriate and clear.
  • Closely coordinate with local implementing partners to achieve project objectives and support sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain robust networks and dynamic relationships with all relevant stakeholders to support project implementation at project level.
  • Develop robust partnerships with local government, educational institutions, and other local organisations (NGOs/CSOs/FBOs) for shared learning, joint implementation and leveraging of similar peace building projects.
  • Contribute to organizational lesson learned process and promising practices documentation for peace building program.
6. Management & Leadership:
  • Live among the people, endeavouring to witness to Christ through life.
  • Create enabling and positive team environment where colleagues are able to develop their spiritual gifts and grow in Christian maturity and facilitate a working environment of mutual trust, respect, and care among all staff.
  • Facilitate effective teamwork, coordination and work planning among field and support staff, including local implementing partners to ensure effective project implementation with quality.
Required Professional Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in public health, community development, or nutrition-related projects, particularly childhood nutrition or mother-children health.
  • Experience in working with local communities, preferably in Papua, particularly in Mimika and Asmat regions are preffered.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating development projects, preferably related to stunting reduction or maternal and child health.
  • Experience in working with various government (local level) developing partnership strategy and plan, local facilitator (village-regency level)
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Development Studies or related field/s.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with donor reporting requirements and experience in preparing high-quality reports and documentation.
  • Have good networking with government counterparts at districts/regency level and familiarity with government working groups on childhood nutrition, such as TPPS.
  • An energetic, analytical, and self-starting approach to projects that involve significant responsibility
  • Familiarity with the socio-cultural context and challenges in the Mimika and Asmat regions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to achieving project goals and objectives.
  • Experience working with donor-funded projects or humanitarian organizations would be beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English language skills, both written and spoken, is a plus..
