Israel Controller/ Senior Finance Manager

Required Knowledge and Experience:
Several years of working experience within a Big 5 accounting firm, ability to operate within a fast-paced, matrix organization and various levels of management, strong organizational and prioritization skills and working experience with Priority and SAP ERP systems wiuld be an advantage.

A Day in the Life
The position of Israel Controller will report directly to the EMEA controller and you’ll be an integral member of the Global Controllership function. For the entities in your scope, you will provide regional leadership and expertise in the accounting and finance activities associated with complex matters, including revenue recognition, revenue-related accruals, and technical accounting.Building relationships at all levels of the organization is key to be successful in this role. Similarly important is the ability to effectively communicate complicated concepts to drive business strategies in an easy-to-understand manner. This will allow you to understand the key risks & opportunities in your region that require your support to manage them. Finally, you will be responsible for elevating the engagement and capabilities of your team members so they can effectively work on their career ambitions.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Monitor Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure adherence to local and international financial regulations and reporting requirements, including but not limited to period close, revenue recognition and statutory financial statements. Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Risk Management: Proactively manage financial risk by implementing robust controls and monitoring key metrics. Work with internal audit teams to perform risk assessments and implement remediation plans as necessary.
- Talent Development and Succession Planning: Focus on building a strong pipeline of talent within the controllership function, with emphasis on professional development, mentorship, and succession planning.
- Support Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic initiatives, including business expansions, cost-saving projects, and capital investments.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate financial performance, insights, and updates to local and regional leadership, ensuring alignment and understanding of key financial objectives and issues.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner closely with business and functional departments including Tax, Treasury, Legal, Supply Chain, IT and Human Resources. Manage/partner with the Global Value Streams including Payroll, Invoice to Pay, Record to Report and External Reporting, ensuring accuracy, appropriate controls and adherence to SLA’s.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Partner with FP&A to support periodic budget preparation and quarterly forecasting, providing insights into actual results versus forecasts and identifying potential issues or areas for improvement.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Inherent drive and motivation to train and develop the employees in your organization.
- At least a Bachelor of Science [BSc] degree displaying strong technical accounting skills and in-depth knowledge on US GAAP and Israeli GAAP.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of working experience in audit, accounting or controlling within an international environment.
- Ability to think and assess situations from a more holistic point of view by looking at situations from various perspectives.
- Well-developed verbal and writing communication skills in English.
- Maintaining poise in difficult situations or conversations that require tact and reflection.
