Are you energized by a challenging role in Molecular Biology and Bacteriology, where scientific demand is driving team growth? If so, this Associate Scientist role would be a great opportunity to consider.
As Associate Scientist, you will be contributing to various project participating in the design of scientific research experiments and be responsible to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data; must be comfortable conversing with opinion leaders regarding highly technical information; must be a self-starter able to handle multiple projects concurrently; possess a good balance of creative, analytical and strong communication skills; ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment and he/she must be a Team Player. Key responsibilities:

Participates in the design of scientific research experiments under limited direction

Works closely under the direction of scientific staff for the implementation of scientific experiments, data collection and their interpretation

Utilizes scientific knowledge and experience to influence technical decisions
-
Implements highest ethical standards, good scientific practices & data integrity in his/her daily scientific activities
-
Participates in writing internal/external reports and scientific documents in support of internal projects
-
Communicates effectively with manager, senior scientific staff and members from other Functions to ensure progression of project related work

Qualification in the molecular biology field with a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Chemistry or BSc/engineer

Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data and Ensures timely sharing of information

Utilizes scientific knowledge and experience to influence technical decisions

Must be comfortable conversing with opinion leaders regarding highly technical information
-
Ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment and he/she must be a Team Player
-
Good level of English, oral and writing
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Chemistry or BSc/engineer + stage
-
Qualifications include extensive experience in bacterial microbiology, molecular epidemiology, biochemistry and end-user bioinformatics.
-
Previous BSL-2 laboratory work experience: bacterial growth and manipulation
-
The candidate should have experience in microbial genetics, and host-pathogen interaction studies, and genomics experience and/or RNA-seq and other NGS technologies would be added value
-
Understand & implement processes specific to the vaccine R&D
-
Understands function operating procedures and/or internal policies required to maintain quality standards and to protect GSK intellectual property
