The Product
Shippy Pro is the platform that simplifies shipping and fulfillment processes for merchants, helping them automate and speed up their operations.
We are currently undertaking a major initiative to modernize our tech stack to a fully distributed system to support our business growth for the coming years.


The Codebase You'll Be Working On
Our platform is built on a solid foundation of modern web technologies, and we are in the middle of a significant modernization effort. Our current tech stack includes:

• Frontend: We utilize React and Type Script for building dynamic and responsive user interfaces, complemented by Tailwind CSS for creating modern, visually appealing UI components.
• Backend: Our backend is primarily built with Node JS and PHP. As we transition to a more distributed architecture, experience with microservices and AWS Lambda is highly valued.
• Testing: We ensure robustness and reliability with strong unit and end-to-end tests using Jest, Cypress, and PHP Unit.
• Design Systems: Storybook is used for developing, testing, and documenting UI components in isolation.
• Databases: My SQL and Dynamo DB are our go-to databases, requiring strong knowledge in database optimization and query performance.
• Caching: Redis is employed for caching to enhance application speed.
• Messaging Buses: We utilize AWS Event Bridge and Rabbit MQ for messaging and event-driven architecture.
• Infrastructure: All our systems run on AWS, leveraging its power and scalability. We use Docker for containerization and AWS ECS for container orchestration and CI/CD pipelines.
• APIs: We offer robust public APIs, requiring a strong understanding of RESTful API design and Graph QL.

We handle millions of requests across the globe, ensuring our systems are robust, scalable, and always available to meet the demands of our customers. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty, tackle complex challenges, and come up with creative, innovative solutions.

The Development Team
We are seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our Engineering team!
We offer a dynamic work environment focused on growth and technological innovation. If you are passionate about software development and want to contribute to transform the logistics industry, you might be the right fit for us!
You will work directly with our Company CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) team to enhance the company’s security posture by developing new tools, conducting code reviews to ensure the security of new features, addressing emerging issues, and performing security assessments as needed. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology, providing the critical foundation on which other teams within the Engineering department can achieve their success.

To do so, they'll operate across both back-end (PHP/Node.js) and front-end (j Query/React+Type Script) parts of our application. Due to the nature of our tech stack, the volume and complexity of work is weighted more strongly towards backend, rather than frontend.


As a part of our small and nimble team, your contributions will be highly valued, and you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact during this high-growth stage of our company.

About You

• Passionate above all - degrees are unimportant, but you must be a perfectionist and an avid knowledge-seeker.
• Curious or knowledgeable about cybersecurity, willing to ensure the safety and resilience of the Company systems and understanding the stakes
• Continuously learning at a rapid pace to bridge any existing skill gap - building on good web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, Javascript) basics
• Thinking thoroughly about any reviewed code, without being afraid of asking for clarifications if something isn't clear
• Developing features and improvements to the product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
• Suggesting improvements on existing implementations and codebases
• Collaborating with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Confidently shipping small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members.
• Joining forces with team and department on larger projects, bringing their best contribution
• Assisting customers with issues pertaining Company compliance and privacy inquiries
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
