Head of Special Operations Program and Project Director

Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life sciences research institute, established and supported by the Italian Government, with the mission of developing innovative strategies to improve human health.
Following extensive redevelopment efforts, the HT campus now spans 20,000 square meters and includes three existing buildings—Palazzo Italia, North Pavilion, and South Pavilion—along with the newly constructed Incubator Labs. A completely new structure, the South Building, will further expand the campus.
As part of this significant project, HT is seeking a Head of Special Operations Program and Project Director. Reporting to the Director and serving as a key member of HT's senior management, this individual will oversee the efficient and timely delivery of large-scale construction projects within the HT Campus development.
The role will focus on managing the public tender phase and the subsequent public procurement contract execution phase for the construction and fit-out of two major buildings: the main HT research facility (the “South Building”), housing laboratories and scientific spaces, and the new Technical Hub, equipped with advanced plant infrastructure.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Ensure the efficient and timely execution and completion of the construction program and related projects.
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks.
- project and monitor all activities and tasks necessary to achieve the program's and project's objectives.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead a team composed of internal office members, external suppliers, and consultants to ensure the program's and project's objectives are met.
- Ensure cost efficiency in compliance with the approved budget.
- Monitor progress and provide timely and transparent operational and financial reports to Human Technopole leadership.
Essential requirements:
On the closing date for online applications, the candidate must fulfil all the following conditions:
- Master’s degree in engineering or architecture or equivalent.
- At least 15 years of experience in the construction and development of complex infrastructure projects, holding top management positions in complex organizations.
- Relevant experience in the Italian public sector (public contracts for work, goods and services).
- Fluent knowledge of the English language, both oral and written.
Preferential requirements:
- Experience in the functioning of scientific research organizations and work experience in international and multicultural environments will be an advantage.
- Experience in an international context.

- Strong strategic analytical and critical thinking.
- Excellent ability to adapt and problem solve.
- Proven negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
