The Manager of Engineering is responsible for driving operational excellence and achieving business growth across the Engineering Function of the organization by setting the direction for the organization to grow and to execute by guiding and building the individual teams.

If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Engineering in Monfalcone (Italy).
The Manager of Engineering is responsible for driving operational excellence and achieving business growth across the Engineering Function of the organization by setting the direction for the organization to grow and to execute by guiding and building the individual teams.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Drive the culture of the Engineering organization and establishing what kind of performance is rewarded or encouraged.
- Guide the implementation of common Engineering processes to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Implementing personnel performance improvement and skills development process to develop adequately trained and qualified resources to implement programs & projects.
- Implementation and integration of the Global Competency Model into all aspects of managing personnel.
- Assuring safety, health and regulatory compliance within the group.
- Drive Innovation and identify improvements to existing product lines and capabilities.
- Assure that the Engineering team is equipped with appropriate processes and the right tools to execute projects.
- Meet minimum hiring expectations as well as participating in hiring plan and establishing criteria for hiring personnel.
- Implement and maintain the Book of Skills and Technical Leader Development Programs.
- Participate in establishing how Engineering serves and interacts with other departments within the company.
- Establish priorities and align resources to achieve business objectives.
- Prioritize tasks and supervise direct reports in their respective responsibilities to achieve yearly goals.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews with all direct reports.
Who You Are:
- Master’s degree in engineering
- 15+ years of Engineering experience with minimum of 5 years in engineering leadership in mechanical and manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership skills
- Experience and accountability in managing engineering process improvement
- Continually seeks opportunities to improve customer satisfaction
- Accountable for driving decisions and delegating tasks downward in the organization
- Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential.
- Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
- Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
- Experienced in working with and managing multi-cultural teams.
- Coach, develop & mentor key employees in support of succession planning.
- Ability to collaborate with other functional heads (in particular with Quality, Projects, SCM and Production)
- Capability to integrate the local engineering team with the multinational organization
- Italian and English (advanced level), additional languages are a plus
