Mandarin Teacher for After-School Activity

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chinese Mandarin Teacher to lead an after-school activity for our students. This programme aims to introduce students to the Mandarin language and Chinese culture through interactive and engaging lessons. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment that fosters language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Mandarin lessons for students of varying ages and proficiency levels.
• Create a curriculum that focuses on language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
• Incorporate cultural elements into lessons to enhance students’ understanding of the Chinese language and traditions.
• Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ progress and program activities.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin
• Relevant teaching certification or qualification in language instruction
• Experience teaching Mandarin to children
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Passion for language education and cultural exchange

Work Schedule:

• 1 hour per week for a total of 28 sessions during the school year.

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
