Third Party Claims Manager

As a Claims Manager you will play a critical role in AXA XL Claims, guiding a team of Claims Specialists/Team Leaders in processes to drive files to resolution, and achieve the best possible outcomes for AXA XL and its clients in accordance with established guidelines.
Within our Italian team you will play your role with experienced Claims professionals who use their specialized expertise to handle even the most complex claims.
As part of the AXA XL Italy branch, the key Claims function mission is to proactively manage claims from notification to settlement, providing high quality customer service and reaching an effective outcome, in the most cost effective and profitable way.
This is a a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- manage and coordinate fellow Team Leaders/Claims Specialists to drive files to resolution,
- manage of assigned claims, setting and implementing cases strategy under the direction of the Head of Claims and in accordance with Company guidelines and procedures,
- action as a point of reference for technical and administrative issues,
- report and control maintenance across the team,
- review and control of claims data to support improved strategic analysis, prioritisation, and decision making,
- manage team workload and resource allocation, with provision of technical oversight, coaching and development to the team members,
- drive of continuous improvement and learning in the team and actively support of short- and long-term initiatives,
- contribute to the costs control and to the performance of technical results,
- engage in projects outside current role and/or with expanded responsibility and exposure to senior management.
- collaborate with the Underwriting team and key partners in connection with claim trends, marketing and business development and retention activities,
- connect with key distribution partners and accounts to establish Claims’ value and service proposition.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Consolidated Experience in claims management role and as team lead
- Good understanding of claims rules, processes and procedures.
- Ability to handle large/complex claims and to manage preventive actions.
- Basic knowledge of project management.
- Fluent speaking/writing in Italian and English (proficiency).
- Decision & execution making by selecting relevant information among vast amounts of available data, even in uncertain contexts.
- Focus on achieving goals over time.
- Leadership, Influence & Conciliation: lead by example with enthusiasm by getting the team to embrace strategies and resolving potential conflicts while remaining composed in managing stressful situations without negative emotions linger. Convey a clear vision, take others’ perspectives into account and use data/facts to agree on a common vision and roadmap. Support Team development in order to increase knowledge. Share best practice and to ensure that relevant professional standards are met.
- Stakeholder management: cultivate relationships with brokers, court prosecutors, opposite lawyers, experts and other involved parties.
- Customer centricity: place the customer at the centre of all decisions and actions. Understand and anticipate customer needs and behaviours. Use empathic listening and formulate customized advices and solutions. Act as a brand ambassador.
- Collaborative working: excel at cooperating with multiple contributors in different locations, to achieve collective goals, in virtual or non-virtual environments, without being afraid to express disagreement. Break silos, facilitate transversal/cross function collaboration, create trust and develop a “share-to-succeed” mindset. Accept responsibility for his/her individual actions and share responsibility as team member.
