The Director of Patient Marketing will play a critical role in driving the success of the Endocrinology Portfolio in the U.S. with a focus on developing and implementing the US marketing strategy to support individuals with and caregivers of people with rare endocrine conditions. We are committed to making a meaningful difference for patients and this role would ensure that we continue to follow our patient-focused mission.
The incumbent will be responsible for the development of educational and promotional tactics to enhance disease state and brand awareness, promote high quality engagement, and drive brand value through market-based insights to ensure the achievement of key business objectives.
Incumbent serves as the primary point of contact with all key internal and external stakeholders in developing and driving the patient strategy.
The position is based in Princeton, NJ (3-days per week in office) and will report directly to the Head of US Marketing. This position will have a broad range of patient education and patient marketing responsibilities primarily for YORVIPATH (hypoparathyroidism) and as well as other in-market and pipeline products to ensure appropriate presence and support.
The role will focus on keeping the patient at the center of how we think and what we choose to do. Responsibilities also include operational excellence in budget management, agency management, creating and overseeing procedures, systems, and metrics to support marketing operations.
Incumbent will also need to demonstrate strong leadership, collaboration, and the ability to set the vision and lead through change.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing effective strategy and tactics for patients to enhance disease education and product understanding.
- Collaborate with internal team and external partners include patient advocacy partners to successfully identify opportunities to enhance communication and understanding.
- Partner with relevant colleagues in the development of market research and analytical projects.
- Cultivate and appropriately leverage strong external relationships such as opinion leaders, key customers, and professional organizations.
- Collaborate with patient services to develop appropriate support solutions.
- Establish critical commercial objectives and utilizes metrics to drive decision-making and measure success of marketing initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Medical, Regulatory, Legal to support goals.
- Effectively partner with all key stakeholders such as Sales, Patient Services, Commercial Analytics & Operations to ensure successful execution of brand plans.
- Set a positive example for others including demonstrating the Ascendis Pharma values.
- 10+ years biotech/ pharmaceutical industry in commercial roles required (e.g. Marketing, Sales, New Product Development)
- Direct patient marketing experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in the development of patient marketing programs, including patient ambassador/mentor programs and management of multiple agencies
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit passion and empathy to build meaningful experiences with patients.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a nimble entrepreneurial environment preferred
- Emerging life sciences/ start-up experience preferred
- Proven ability to be action oriented, self-motivated with a track record of being an enthusiastic and effective team player.
- Professionalism and high integrity, with the ability to lead by example
- Knowledge of current legal, regulatory and compliance climate
- Demonstrated excellence in project management and managing multiple priorities
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Ability to travel up to 20%
