Base Salary Range: $115,500 - $133,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. This position is also eligible to participate in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.

Job Summary
Langan is seeking an Environmental Project Scientist to join its collaborative team in White Plains, NY. This individual will serve a key function in conducting engineering research and analysis, as well as complex analyses of broader engineering and environmental projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of top-notch professionals in a variety of geographic areas and regulatory programs, and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of site/civil, geotechnical, survey, and landscape architect professionals on landmark land development projects. We support lifelong learning, career progression, and engagement in outside professional organizations.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects;
- Effectively organize, write and edit draft proposals, reports and other documents;
- Perform complex analyses for environmental projects;
- Develop task and project budgets and schedule and perform task and project administrative activities, including preparing progress reports and reviewing project billings;
- Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;
- Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others;
- Supervise field activities and make interpretations of findings, ensuring that data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time; and
- Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering. Master’s degree a plus;
- 6+ years of related work experience;
- Proficiency in environmental due diligence;
- Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software. Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and technical analyses;
- Hazwoper training, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, and annual 8-hr. Hazwoper re-certification;
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements;
- Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
- Ability to multi-task effectively, manage multiple projects and clients, develop and manage project budgets, and effectively manage and coach staff; and
- Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
