Apple Hardware Engineering R&D Division in Japan is seeking highly enthusiastic and qualified students to participate in Technical Internship focused on the Ultra Precision Metrology and the Precision 3D Point Cloud Data Analysis. The team pursues advancement of the performance in our optical components through improving lens manufacturing process and developing new optical elements.

Description

Specific project and assignment will be hand-picked by our engineers based on individual strengths and background of each student. SOME GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: - Operate ultra-precision measuring instruments to measure actual lenses and molds - Evaluate accuracy of the surfaces using the obtained 3D point cloud data - Improve existing systems by data analysis and making new process - Propose and implement innovative ideas to improve current metrology system

• Interest in ultra precision metrology, and 3D point cloud data analysis
• Outstanding academic achievements in own field of study
Programming skills in languages such as Matlab, Python, C/C++/C#, Swift, and Go are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project experience in ultra precision metrology
• Ability to plan and execute experiments independently and creatively
• Fluent in English and Japanese, especially in reading/writing of technical documentations and presentations
