Job Announcement for a Full-Time Position
National Institute of Technology, Toyama College invites applications for one full-time English
language teacher with the following requirements and conditions.
1. Positions available: Lecturer or Assistant Professor (tenured)
2. Department: Department of General Education (Imizu campus)
3. Subjects in charge: Comprehensive English, English Expression, and English Practicum.
4. Qualifications:
(1) Applicants are required to have a Master’s degree or higher.
(2) Applicants must be enthusiastic about teaching and research activities at the college of technology,
and especially enthusiastic about giving guidance to students on various issues. (Please refer to the
attached “Outline of Duties of Faculty Members of National Institute of Technology, Toyama
College”.)
(3) Applicants are required to have an ability to teach English in English.
(4) If Japanese is not the applicant’s native language, the applicant must possess a minimum Japanese
language proficiency level N2 (JLPT) or the equivalent ability for daily duties in the college.
5. Starting date: April 1, 2025
6. Documents to be submitted:
(1) Curriculum vitae including academic background (form-1)
(2) A list of educational experience (form-2)
(3) A list of research achievements and activities (form-3)
(4) A letter of self-recommendation stressing the applicant’s character, personality, beliefs, significant
achievements, etc. (form-4)
(5) An essay which describes the applicant’s teaching philosophy concerning English education,
student guidance, and research plan at our college (free format, approximately 2,000 characters, if
written in Japanese, or 1,000 words if submitted in English)
(6) Certificate of English or Japanese language proficiency:
The applicants are required to submit a copy of the following certificates of language proficiency or
teaching skills.
Non-native English speaker: Certificates of English ability test and certificates of language teaching
(TOEIC, Eiken, Delta, CELTA, TESOL, etc.)
Native English speaker: Certificate of JLPT.
7. Application Deadline: Must arrive no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024
