- B.S in an enginering discipline and have a strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
- 3+ years experience in capital equipment sales in a technical environment preferred.
- Exposure to precision measurements systems, automation, manufacturing processes, and statistical analysis are beneficial but no required.
- Energetic and motivated self-starter with strong work ethic.
- Able to work well independently and in a team environment.
- No travel restrictions-available to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Strong email/letter writing skills imperative.
- Negotiating skills and commercial understanding are important.
- Attention to detail is imperative as is the ability to reconcile discrepancies in multiple documents.
- Good time management skills with the ability to determine priorities.
- Excellent persuasion, diplomatic and inter-personal skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and on-line meeting software.
- Foreign language skills a plus, but no required.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Management of the entire sales process from start to finish.
- Review customer RFQ's, specifications and estimates with Applications Engineering to ensure quotation meet customer requirements.
- Negotiate commercial and technical aspects of the project.
- Responsible for setting strategy on project in concert with the Sales Manager, Applications Engineering and Sr. Management to evaluate offerings.
- Establish and maintain relationships with senior buyers, design engineers and key decision makers.
- "Go-to" person for customer communication on technical questions and commercial issues.
- Analyze and identify opportunities to secure new businesses from customer base and optimize profit and increase revenues.
- Develop new customers, and strategies for increasing sales and revenues within existing and new customers.
- Identify new areas of growth for the business, develop and execute strategies to achieve sales goals for assigned territories and accounts.
- Visit customers regularly to develop close relationships with those individuals who are buying or have specifying influence in the marketplace to maintain and increase sales levels.
- Collaborate with other members of the sales team and other departments to ensure effective communication with each account.
- Relate technical information to non-technical people.
- Provide clear and accurate feedback to management of any opportunities or issues.
- Creativity for developing concepts and alternatives that provide competitive advantage and meet cusomer requirements.
- Develop professional sales presentations tailored to the potential customer requirements.
- Domestic and International travel to customer locations.
- Cold Calling and follow up on all assigned leads and enter the results in the company's CRM system.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to lead a team of people from multiple disciplines, without direct authority, to resolve an issue.
