We have a team of over 130 professionals, including engineers, technicians, inspectors, and administrative staff. We operate four accredited testing laboratories, including Texas's largest advanced geotechnical testing laboratory.

To sustain our rapid growth and adequately staff for our current construction engineering projects and anticipated new wins, the Beyond Construction Engineering team is hiring college graduates and seasoned Mexican construction engineering professionals to fill the positions described below for our Texas offices.

JOB LOCATIONS:
North, Central, South, and West Texas.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Beyond Engineering and Testing (BEYOND) is currently seeking a Construction Inspector/ highway technician for our north, west and central Texas Group. In this role you perform testing and inspections in transportation projects. This is an entrance level position.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contact supervisor for priorities and deadlines.
- Apply engineering principles and techniques to ensure construction compliance.
- Conduct research and problem-solving.
- Prepare, testing and inspection reports daily.
- Inspect materials and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Handle problem calls from producers, suppliers, inspectors, and field personnel.
- Review correspondence and coordinate inspection schedules.
- Advise supervisor of inspection activities and problems.
- Calculate payments due to contractors or subcontractors for completed work.
- Consult with project engineers and contractors' superintendents on work progress and construction problems.
- Oversee construction record-keeping activities and prepare reports.
- Document work progress and issues arising throughout the project scope.
- Perform other assigned job responsibilities.
- Mexican citizen
- 0-5 years of experience in roadway, related facilities, and construction inspection, with knowledge of highway construction plans, inspection procedures, specifications, materials, and traffic control plans and devices, as well as source materials quality control, concrete mix design, sampling, and testing.
- Civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or construction-engineering-related degree
- Considerable knowledge of engineering fundamentals and calculations, as well as working knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively convey work status, prepare reports and documentation and provide daily reports.
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and personal computers, including applicable software.
- Some knowledge of construction plans, inspection procedures, specifications, and materials, as well as material testing methods and procedures
- Ability to obtain a driver's license in Texas and ability to meet the firm's auto insurability requirements.
- Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to arrive at designated project sites before scheduled times.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when required.
- Passing a drug test, physical, and background check, and having a satisfactory driving record by the Company's driving policy
- Able to study and pass American Concrete Institute certifications.
- Able to study and pass Hot Mix Asphalt Center certifications.
- Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and move 100 lbs.
- Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold.

- BEYOND will provide successful candidates with an employment letter and sponsor them for the TN-2 visa for lawful employment in the United States.
- The job is in the United States, and the candidate shall report to the office on the first day of employment. The candidate shall be able to travel to the United States using his resources.
- BEYOND will assist the candidate in settling down in Texas.
- Contingent upon the employee's performance, work ethic, skill sets, and contributions to Beyond operations and projects, Beyond will sponsor the employee's applications for US green cards as employment-based immigrants.
