SUMMARY
Under general direction, is responsible for providing direction, guidance and oversight to all Residential Services programs. Ensures through subordinate management, that programs are managed in accordance with Agency policies and regulations and requirements of applicable regulatory agencies. Is responsible for overseeing assigned programs including personnel, budgeting, services to individuals, regulatory compliance and physical plant management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Residential Services – Adult Services will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensures that all measures for safety and well being are maintained at highest level.
- Provides overall direction, guidance and supervision to Directors at Residential Services’ sites.
- Conducts staff meetings with assigned Directors on a regular basis.
- Interviews, hires, evaluates, orients, trains, disciplines and when necessary, terminates subordinate staff.
- Ensures program actions are conducted in a manner that prevents abuse.
- Maintains records on subordinate staff such as level of performance, specific deficiencies, counseling sessions training records, etc.
- Conducts individual supervisory meetings with subordinates to discuss program, personnel or training needs and assesses their performance.
- Responds to program and work-related questions, problems and complaints from staff, families and outside regulatory agencies.
- Ensures that assigned sites are kept clean, neat, healthy and safe.
- Oversee development of policies and procedures for assigned sites.
- Ensure division complies with agency policies and procedures.
- Ensures programs are meeting goals and the people we support are receiving optimum care.
- Represents division on agency committees and at outside meetings.
- Develops, secures approval of and monitors budget for residential program.
- Makes recommendations and implements new programs and services for the residence.
- Performs specific projects as assigned.
- Oversees through subordinate management preparation for outside regulatory audits.
- Prepares various concise written reports as assigned.
- Conducts investigations at other agency sites as assigned.
- Ensures division complies with all OPWDD and other agency regulations.
- Due to nature of position, has required on-call responsibility 24/7.
- Performs related duties as requested.

- Valid New York State Driver’s License and must be in good standing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with co-workers, employees, vendors, regulatory agencies, the people we support, and their families.
- Must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
- Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and appropriate software and E-Mail system.
- Knowledge of equipment typically used by persons receiving services including wheelchairs and adaptive devices.
- Expected to travel on a frequent basis to all sites.
- Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
- At least seven years of progressively more responsible managerial experience, preferably with the developmentally disabled population.
