Assistant Transit Management Analyst I: $62,471 - $73,956
Assistant Transit Management Analyst II: $72,534 - $80,784
Associate Transit Management Analyst: $81,994 - $106,164
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the planning, survey, design, inspection and tracking of existing and new way find signage through the NYCT Subway system. This incumbent will:
  • Inspect existing wayfinding signs and evaluate needs regarding the condition and suitability for station wayfinding paths, including ADA-Accessible paths.
  • Resolve signage-related nonconformities through the survey of station locations and design of new or replacement signage as needed.
  • Evaluate and proposes new signs and existing sign changes for train service changes.
  • Track and document signage inventory by maintaining sign databases as sign replacement and changes occur.
  • Assist project managers as needed on MTA C&D construction projects as related to wayfinding signage.
Education and Experience:
Assistant Transit Management Analyst I-II:
  • A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports; or
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "1" above.
Associate Transit Management Analyst:
  • A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two (2) years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One (1) year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three (3) years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One (1) year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn of wayfinding principles and MTA design Standards.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills including the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent fieldwork and survey skills.
  • Good Macintosh skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite, (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, One Drive) and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop).
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on Ma BSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
