Telecom Data Technician

Summary
The Telecommunications Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting communications systems, such as telephone lines, cable television, and internet systems. They must be able to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure that all systems are functioning properly. This individual must possess a strong understanding of telecommunications technology, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks. They should also be able to read blueprints and diagrams to determine the best placement of wires and components.

Duties
- Be able to run, pull and terminate data cabling
- Be able to survey to determine cable pathways and material needs for future installations.
- Be able to identify telecommunications equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls and circuits.
- Be able to install telecommunications equipment and provide console access for remote engineering.
- Perform proper cable management and cleanup of any rack work performed.
