NEP New Zealand is currently looking for a Broadcast Engineer to undertake a key role based in our Engineering team at our Parnell studio facility.
The position
The Broadcast Engineer enables achievement of NEP New Zealand’s strategy and objectives through provision of efficient and effective broadcast technology solutions and cost opportunities.
They provide Technology support to NEP New Zealand MCR, Hub, Production and Presentation broadcast facilities, along with technical operations support to NEP New Zealand Outside Broadcast Operations as required.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Liaise with NEP New Zealand Technology Manager on facility engineering project planning. Attend meetings with key people when required.
- Provide expert advice on technology and be the point of contact for all technology support issues.
- Lead, motivate and communicate with the facility engineering team to ensure delivery of engineering and broadcast results and provide an appropriate level of support and delegation to ensure operational excellence.
- Complete daily Engineering reports when on shift.
- Maintain software, hardware, and local area network applications on broadcast systems throughout the facility.
- Workshop spares management.
- Keep software versions up to date. Ensures software licence compliance. Follows all corporate directives for IT security.
Required skills and attributes include but not limited to:
- Proven knowledge of electronics analogue / digital principals, techniques and equipment.
- Ability to guide and instruct staff in the application of these techniques and principals.
- Must have strong business acumen and the ability to identify key issues and their impact in a broad business context. Ability to oversee completion of assigned projects. Ability to complete assignments according to plan.
