We are currently looking for an energetic and flexible team player to join our Security team on a casual basis.

Our Security team works on a rotating shift basis, covering 24 / 7 and the purpose of the casual team member is to cover absences such as sick leave and annual leave etc. Our casual staff are available on a 'when and if required basis', so this role will suit an individual who has the flexibility required to work at any time, on any given day. Training will be provided as per business requirements, and you may be trained in some or all aspects of the role over your employment.
About you
The Casual Security Officer will provide frontline protection at our entrance and be responsible for providing efficient day-to-day security service for the port complex, to include staff, contractors, ships' crews and visitors. Security Officers provide and enforce security initiatives relating to maritime security, to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Previous experience in Security and/or Surveillance, working with CCTV footage
- Experience in Mobile Patrols
- Proven track record working on a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong sense of initiative, with the ability to prioritise workflows
- Full, Clean, Class 1 New Zealand Driver's Licence
- The ability to work varied shifts covering a 24/7 roster
- Good computer literacy skills (basic standard)
- A good sense of humour and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues
- The willingness to constantly improve our service to the customers, LPC Staff, the visitors, and the community
- Experience in Marine and Restricted Radio Communication
- Critical thinking skills
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Sound organisational skills

Pre-employment Tests
LPC require all successful candidates to complete a Pre-employment Medical which includes a Drug and Alcohol Test, Pre-Employment Ministry of Justice Check, a TORO check and a Pre-employment ACC Check.
Eligibility
Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand is a pre-requisite for the role.
