Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Key responsibilities of the role:
  • Provide quality clinical services to tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau within Te Whatu Ora Waikato boundaries
  • As a clinical expert, you will ensure that the appropriate and current knowledge, skills and attitudes in the area of psychiatry and are applied to clinical situations and team decision making
  • Participates in clinical partnership to ensure that tāngata whaiora and their whānau receive integrated, appropriate, effective and efficient assessment and care

Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service
We are the Te Whatu Ora provider arm of Mental Health and Addictions Services in the Waikato. We provide specialist services for tāngata whaiora who are experiencing serious mental health difficulties and have a strong emphasis on family/ whānau involvement in the recovery journey. As a community-based service, we are open Monday to Friday and we work with community partners across the Waikato.

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
  • A Psychiatrist who is vocationally registered, or are eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
  • are versatile, flexible and have a passion for working as part of a team
  • are excited about and willing to contribute to, and participate in change
  • are passionate about eliminating health inequities
