Job Description
Come join our amazing team in Albany, Auckland.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician—technical Services (Cable technician) position. In this role, you will provide specialist electrical technical services to the company’s Distribution Maintenance Services Business Unit.
The successful candidates will work on key responsibilities like:
- Provide cable locates, identifications, stand-overs, mark-outs, and fault detection.
- Install power quality devices, conduct network switching, and maintain MV equipment.
- Perform ground and building maintenance, including BWOFs, and manage minor underground cable installation sites.
- Conduct maintenance and commissioning tests on high-voltage cables, terminals, rotating plants, and distribution assets.
- Use and maintain HV industry test instruments and perform tests on transformers, switches, and earthing systems.
- Install and maintain substation and high-voltage equipment and respond to emergency faults within response times (24/7 on-call).
- Inspect and service control instrumentation, conduct insulating oil tests, and perform tests on multiple input protection systems.
- Apply and remove safety measures in the electricity supply environment.
- Provide technical support to Distribution Services, ensure Click Mobile compliance, and maintain tools and equipment for task readiness.
Qualifications and Skills
To be considered, you will have:
- A trade qualification as an electrician is required.
- Hands-on experience in distribution line work to industry standards.
- A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements.
- Sound computer skills.
