Electronic Monitoring Video Analyst

Salary: $66,331 - $77,226 per annum, pro-rated for part time hours

This role is for work up to 30 hours per week Monday to Friday. The role requires that you work in the MPI head office, 38-42 Bowen St, Wellington.

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
Electronic Monitoring Video Analysts provide support to the Team Leader Fisheries Electronic Monitoring, and Electronic Monitoring Team. You will be part of the audit process of fishing industry practices and will assist with verification services for Fisheries New Zealand, Fisheries Compliance, and the Department of Conservation (such as protected species captures or fisheries related management measures). This will be done by reviewing video footage from commercial fishing vessels and annotating the activities observed.

Mōu - About You
We need people who have strong attention to detail and can translate video footage observations into digital annotation data. We are looking for people with the proven ability to work efficiently and will diligently follow processes with minimal supervision.
We need people who can build and maintaining successful relationships. Have a drive to meet deadlines, a natural interest in continuous improvement. Ideally you will have working knowledge of inshore commercial fishing operations and a solid understanding of fish species and identification. You will enjoy working in a high performing collaborative team environment.
