External Auditors - Dunedin

FULL TIME

September 12, 2024

At Audit New Zealand, we're proud to be the leading provider of audit and assurance services for public organisations on behalf of the Auditor-General. Our clients include for-profit and public benefit entities in the central government, local government, health, and tertiary education sectors. With whānau-friendly offices and a range of health-related benefits, a role at Audit New Zealand can seamlessly integrate into your life.
We're looking for external auditors at a range of levels to join our team in our Dunedin office, from those ready to start their Chartered Accountant journey, through to those already qualified and with more experience. Staff at all the following levels earn time off in lieu (TOIL) for extra hours worked, and work from home up to two days a week.
As an Assistant Auditor, you'll be starting your Chartered Accountant journey and completing CA papers while also learning to audit and work in a team. Our Assistant Auditors need to be able to start in February 2025 and the starting salary is $62,000 with four weeks of annual leave.
As an Intermediate Auditor, you'll be further along your learning path in both CA papers and auditing experience. The starting salary is between $62,000 and $67,000 with four weeks of annual leave.
At Auditor level, you'll likely have at least three years' financial auditing experience and be close to completing your CA ANZ (or CPA Australia) qualification. In small audits you'll lead the audit team, while in larger audits you'll be part of the team on a variety of audits across both the for-profit and public benefit sectors. The starting salary for Auditors is between $68,000 and $80,000 with four weeks of annual leave.
As a Senior Auditor, you need to have at least five years' financial auditing experience and have completed your professional qualification. You'll have the opportunity to lead audit teams, or be a team member, during all phases of audits for a range of organisations. The starting salary range is $85,000 to $95,000 and includes five weeks of annual leave.
As an Assistant Manager, you should have at least two years' audit experience after achieving your professional qualification. You'll lead audit teams for the audit of a range of large complex entities and have a greater leadership role in the office. The starting salary range is $110,000 to $120,000 and includes five weeks of annual leave.
At all levels, you'll be working with our Audit Managers, Audit Directors, and other specialist staff, alongside well-trained colleagues with extensive experience who are passionate about making a difference, providing the highest quality audits and service to our clients to help improve trust and confidence the public sector.
We're committed to your professional development and offer a range of activities to help grow your skills. If you join us, you'll get the variety and challenge of working with different public organisations while working with a whānau-friendly employer with a range of health-related benefits and TOIL.
The work schedule is generally Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, but we can be flexible to suit you and your family's needs. We're looking to fill several positions and welcome applications from people who wish to work full time, part time, or on a fixed-term basis.
