Mō te tūranga - About the role
This is a part time position, working Sunday to Wednesday each week from 09.00-16.30. The Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the cleaning and laundry schedules ensuring our residential aged care Home is kept clean and tidy. Attention to healthy hygiene practices and a motivation to make a pleasant living and working environment for all members of Chalmers Home is essential.

• Provide quality cleaning and laundry services for the Home
• Understand and follow infection control procedures
• Help residents to maintain their individuality by helping them to do their own cleaning practices, if they wish.
• Oversight of the cleanliness within the home, including rooms staged for viewing
• Regular ordering of chemicals as per policy
• Support to complete performance appraisals for cleaning and laundry staff

Mo koe - About You
You will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect.
In addition, you will have:

• Ideally a New Zealand Certificate in Cleaning Level 3 or
• Relevant supervisory experience and already hold a National Certificate in Cleaning and Caretaking level 2 and are prepared to gain a Level 3
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Ability to orientate and train others
• Literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to maintain manual and computerised records
