The Opportunity
We are looking for a experienced Mechanical Fitter - Team Leader to join our team in Christchurch. The Fitting Team Leader will provide effective and visible leadership and the efficient day-to-day operation of the assigned team. They will be responsible for the successful leadership, management, development, and productivity of your staff.

You will be responsible for:

• Producing quality workmanship and completing manufacturing, fitting and assembly tasks accurately to Scott standards and set targets.
  
• Ensuring employees are achieving their specific objectives through regular reviews and performance appraisals.
• Managing staff and teams in their assignment of tasks, ensuring work ethic, achievement of milestones, budgets and training & development.
• Developing effective planning and communications tools to support staff time/task planning and productivity.
• Provide, and support staff in developing skills for regular, accurate and timely communication within the manufacturing teams and as required to other parties.
• To lead as required, technical solutions and training to achieve the best technical outcome and train/ support staff to achieve this.
  
Generate reports as required for upward reporting of operational KPI’s.

To be a great match to this role you will:

• A relevant trade qualification.
• 5+ years of experience as a Team Leader in a similar position within manufacturing indsutry.
• Experience leading direct reports within a workshop environment.
• Strong & varied fitting/assembly experience e.g. tool making, pneumatics and hydraulics reticulation.
• Strong ability communicate with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to prepare and present reports and ideas to the workshop team.
