As the Sales Design Team Lead, you will be instrumental in coordinating and guiding the sales design team to deliver effective technical design solutions . You will work as part of a collaborative team to provide mechanical design support during the tender process for estimation and tender submission; working closely with the sales team, estimators, and other engineering disciplines to understand the client’s requirements and develop a solution that best meets their needs.
- Engineer and design conveyor layout over client’s architectural plans according to the design requirement and specification
- Communicate regularly with other members of the project/bid team and be proactive in seeking necessary information to complete the design.
- Allocate tasks and ensure timely delivery of layouts, take-offs and information to the costing team.
- Occasional domestic and international travel for site visits to verify and gather information

Skills and Experience
In this role, you will drive successful project outcomes through a process-driven approach, demonstrating exceptional planning and organisational skills. Your experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD)tools, particularly 3D Auto CAD and Navisworks, will be crucial as you navigate the complexities of a dynamic project environment.
You will already have the legal right to work in New Zealand and your skillset should include the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with material handling systems and belt conveyors is preferred but not essential
- Proven ability to prepare and interpret conceptual designs and sales layouts using Auto CAD
- Experience leading a team
