Tetra Tech International Development Europe is Tetra Tech’s European business unit focused on International Development. We also have a strong in-house Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Practice consisting of 35 evaluators, statisticians, economists, social scientists, and research managers.

Job Overview:
The Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria (SPRi NG) Programme will support a more stable and peaceful Nigeria, with citizens benefiting from reduced violence and increased resilience to the climate. It will achieve this by supporting Nigerian stakeholders in responding to conflict, security, justice, and natural resource management challenges in target areas.
SPRi NG will (a) support locally led enhancements to conflict prevention, violence reduction, security and justice and natural resource management; (b) work to remove or lessen the impact of critical barriers to peace; and (c) support partnerships for peace with likeminded international partners to multiply funding spent by FCDO.
Spring is a politically led programme grounded in research, evidence, and science, including political economy and conflict analysis, to ensure that it addresses the root causes of violence. SPRi NG is problem-driven, evidence-based, iterative, adaptive in approach, reflective, responsive, and scalable.
The SPRi NG programme is seeking a Finance and Grants Officer who will be responsible for providing support to the implementation of the SPRi NG programme and Tetra Tech Shared Nigeria services by supporting downstream partner relationship management and fund disbursements.

The SPRi NG programme is seeking a Finance and Grants Officer who will be responsible for providing support to the implementation of the SPRi NG programme and Tetra Tech Shared Nigeria services by supporting downstream partner relationship management and fund disbursements.
Main Duties:

Partner Engagement and Relationship Management
Responsible for coordinating downstream partner requirements, compliance and reporting, including the development and review of concept notes, budgets, partner financial reports and disbursements, working closely with Regional Technical Leads and Workstream Leads - Support the Organisational Capacity Assessment process, including coordinating regular assessments, spot checks, development of capacity-building work plans for every partner, and the management and delivery of training and capacity-building
- In collaboration with the Safeguarding Focal Points, ensure partners comply with safeguarding standards
- In liaison with the Programme Management Unit, play a leading role in partner contract development and follow-on processes
- Support the Finance & Grants Manager in conducting Partner Internal Audits & spot checks.
- Assist in maintaining the Partner Asset Register.
- Assist in tracking risks associated with individual partners.
- Support the Finance & Grants Manager and Programme Management Unit (PMU) in conducting Partner Due Diligence and Onboarding
- Support the Finance & Grants Manager in maintaining the Partnership Disbursement Tracker
- Any other finance-related duties delegated by the Head of Finance & Finance and Grants Manager, including supporting with assigned finance-related tasks.
- Ensure financial transactions and disbursements to SPRi NG Project Partners are properly authorized, recorded, have adequate supporting documentation, filled, maintained and can be easily extracted for the purpose of preparing financial statements, and financial audits.
- Review partner financial reports to ensure that spending is in line with the agreed budget and milestones. As part of this, review the requisite supporting documentation to ensure that all financial transactions are adequately supported as per SPRi NG and partner financial policies and guidelines.
- Support the Finance & Grants Manager in the approval and follow-up of partner financial and technical reports, partner acquittals, and partner payments, including monthly or quarterly cash forecasts.
- Support in reviewing, updating and re-aligning partners’ budgets in line with any requests for amendment made by partners and ensuring they correspond with milestone payment schedules and agreed upon work plans.
- In collaboration with the technical team, ensure that financial reports reconcile with the delivery narrative, work delivered and activity reports
- Support the analysis of all grant management processes for SPRi NG as per the set policies and in collaboration with the Finance and Programme teams.
- Experience working on UK donor Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) funded projects.
- Full or part-qualified accountant.
- Experience working with Quick Books and Approval Max.
- Reoccurring demonstratable accounting grants management experience is essential.
- Strong accounting, finance, and administration skills
- Experience supporting the preparation of financial reports.
- Excellent understanding of programme cycle management.
- Excellent command of accounting software.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and demonstrable experience working with finance and non-finance staff.
- Strong background in financial management systems.
- Experience auditing partner grants.
- Experience in building the capacity of local organisations and sub-grantees in areas of grant compliance, financial reporting, and accountability.
- A university degree (or equivalent) in accounting or financial management.
- Any other professional course in finance, grants or programmes will be an added advantage
