LEICA PORTUGAL is searching for an Embedded Systems Engineering to their facilities.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Within the R&D Team, this professional will be responsible for the development of firmware and software for embedded systems of new technology-based products in the company. This professional will interact with various company departments and the international headquarter.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Firmware/software development for embedded systems

o Zephyr RTOS;
o n RF Connect SDK;
o Arm Cortex-M;
o Bluetooth Low Energy;
o Bluetooth Stack;
o Free RTOS (Real-Time Operation System);
o Microcontrollers: STM32 and Microchip (PIC24, ds PIC33, PIC32);
o FPGA.

• Collaboration in code development; activities of code review;
• Architecture and design of electronic systems for products;
• Testing for circuit validation;
• Development of product functionality test systems;
• Collaboration with different necessary areas, optics, mechanics and industrialization, for the development of the project and/or product.

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Background in Electronic Engineering or similar;
• 3 years of proven experience in firmware/software development for embedded systems;
• Deep experience with both hardware and software;
• Knowledge of PCB design and layout (Altium desigener, Kicad or Zuken)
• Knowledge of of circuit simulation (in LTspice)
• Programming languages: Assembly, Embedded C, C, C++, Python, Java Script;
• Git (versions control);
• Experience in Jira, Confluence and Visual Studio Code;
• Opto-electronic know-how strongly valued;
• Full systems thinking;
• Problem-solving and ability to create new solutions;
• Understanding of project management;
• Fluent in English;
